Avycast

Avycast collects official avalanche bulletins from more than 30 regional avalanche centers worldwide and puts them in one app, in one consistent format, in your language. The problem: every avalanche service publishes its forecast differently. Different layouts, different scales, different terminology, and almost always in the local language only. If you ski, tour, or climb outside your home range, you spend the morning decoding an unfamiliar website in a language you don't read — right when you need the information most. Avycast normalizes all of it: • One schema for every region. Danger levels by elevation band (above treeline / near treeline / below treeline), aspects, avalanche problems, and the forecaster's own discussion text — always laid out the same way, wherever you are. • Faithful translation, not summaries. Bulletins are translated into 11 languages. The forecaster's wording is translated, never rewritten, shortened, or "improved". What the local expert wrote is what you read. • Always linked to the source. Every bulletin carries a link back to the original publication from the issuing avalanche center. • Offline slope evaluator. A built-in reduction-method calculator that works without a signal: enter slope angle, aspect, and elevation against the current danger rating and get a risk assessment on the spot. • Favorites and quick switching. Save the regions you actually ski and get to today's bulletin in a couple of taps. Avycast is available as an iOS and Android app, and as a public website at avycast.app for reading bulletins in the browser.
