About Finance Simulator
Finance Simulator is a free Canadian personal finance planner. It takes you from your paycheque to retirement in five steps: Income, Budget, Invest, Retire and Summary. It covers all 13 provinces and territories, 2026 tax year, and there is no account and no paywall. What it does - Take-home pay after federal and provincial tax, CPP/QPP and EI, using real brackets instead of an average rate. Quebec paycheques are modelled exactly (QPP, QPIP, reduced EI, federal abatement). - A budget that shows where the take-home goes and what is left to save. - TFSA, RRSP and FHSA growth with 2026 contribution limits, including the RRSP tax refund. - Retirement projections that include CPP and OAS, plus a Coast FIRE number: what you need invested today to stop contributing and still retire on time. - Debt payoff, rent vs buy, and a one-page summary of your whole plan. Why it is different - Every tax and benefit constant (41 of them) is listed on a public methodology page with its official source and a confidence rating. The page is generated from the calculator's own code, so the two cannot disagree. - Privacy, plainly: the numbers you type (salary, savings, balances) are never uploaded. The math runs in your browser and your plan stays on your device. The site does use basic analytics to count visits. - Available in English and French. - Designed and built solo by Chris Coffin in Montreal. Limits: Canada only. These are planning estimates, not financial, tax or legal advice.

Great way to learn finance without real money at risk. Simulations make complex investment concepts concrete and build intuition for market dynamics. Perfect for building financial literacy before making real capital decisions.
@omribenshoham thank you for the kind and encouraging words. That’s precisely the goal behind the project, to give people the literacy and confidence to achieve financial independence.
Hi, I'm Chris, a solo maker in Montreal. Canadian take-home pay changes by province, and many tools skip Quebec, CPP and OAS. I built this to get them right. Which number looks off to you?
