About FORGE.labs
FORGE.labs is an open source design engineering ecosystem built for developers who want production-ready React components without the usual trade-offs. Most component libraries give you a package you install and depend on forever. Update it and things break. The library drops support and you're stuck. FORGE flips that model entirely - you configure components visually, copy one CLI command, and the generated TSX and CSS files land directly in your project. No runtime dependency. No package to maintain. You just own the code like any other file in your codebase. FORGE.ui is the core product - a 40-component playground where you configure everything visually before you ever touch a terminal. Tweak props, colours, variants, animations, spacing, and typography in real time. The CLI command updates as you customise, so what you see in the playground is exactly what lands in your project. One command generates the component files and wires up the import path. From there it's just your code - edit it, extend it, delete it, do whatever you want. The components ship with a built-in design system. Consistent colour tokens, typography scale, spacing rhythm, and radius system across all 40 components. Everything is connected - change a global token and it propagates across your entire component set. The design system is opinionated enough to give you a coherent UI out of the box, but every token is yours to override. FORGE.motion extends the ecosystem with scroll-triggered animation presets built on the same ownership model. Configure animation behaviour visually - entrance effects, timing, easing, stagger - copy the command, own the generated animation primitives. Motion is treated as a first-class part of the component system, not an afterthought you bolt on later. The real outcome: you go from zero to a consistent, production-ready component library in your own codebase in minutes. No black box dependencies, no API changes breaking your UI, no being held hostage to someone else's release cycle. Just clean, typed, editable React components that belong to you. Free and open source. Built in public. Designed for developers who ship.

Congrats on FORGE.labs! Open source React components you copy in via CLI with no runtime deps is the workflow I want. Great job @taliawip, looking forward to pulling this into a side project.
Hey im Talia, the dev behind FORGE. Built this because I kept hitting the same wall with component libraries - install, depend, break, repeat. Happy to answer any questions!
