Litter Layer

Litter Layer is an indie search engine dedicated to uncovering personal websites and small-web content. Unlike mainstream search engines, it thrives on community participation, allowing visitors to help build and expand the index of discoverable sites. This is done by bookmarking and other servers registering as a node. Registering as a node was purposely made as easy as possible and shared hosting friendly. After getting set up, registering, and being approved, your website is crawled and pages contributed to Litter Layer. Plus, you get your own site search widget. In short, you end up contributing to Litter Layer and get a search for your website (or an extra way to search if your site already has search). Visitors and members can bookmark search results or add their own bookmarks to a private bookmarks page. Members can make any bookmarks public and share their public page with friends.
