About Old Light

Old Light is a slow-paced strategy game set within a shared galaxy. Players can build up their own solar systems, scout neighboring territories, and dispatch fleets to expand their influence. Designed for persistent play, the game allows you to check in periodically to see how your empire has evolved and what changes have occurred in the galaxy while you were away. It runs on real clocks rather than turns. Buildings, ship production, and fleet travel all resolve on wall-clock timers, so a session is a few minutes of decisions and the galaxy advances between them. Two short check-ins a day is the intended shape of play. Ownership and empire borders are public across the whole galaxy. What a rival has actually built, their structures and their fleet, stays hidden until you fly a probe over, and the report you get back starts going stale the moment it lands. Most decisions are made on intelligence that is a little out of date

An older-light theme is a small quality-of-life change, and those add up. I would want a warm setting that does not wash out text, not just a darker overlay.
