About Quartile
Quartile is a film discovery and rating platform built to fix two things: the nightly "what should I watch" paralysis across a dozen streaming apps, and rating systems where a single ambiguous score doesn't tell you enough about a film. Instead of one vague number, Quartile breaks every film down into the five elements that actually matter — Plot, Acting (Narration for documentaries), Cinematography, Novelty, and Ending — then combines them into a single score out of 10. You can still see what each category scored individually, so you know why a film is rated what it is, not just that it is. Quartile also lets you filter by "Top" in any category — Top Cinematography surfaces only films that scored best there, Top Novelty is one of the most unique filters offered — and you can stack these with genre, like Top Novelty in horror or Top Cinematography in sci-fi, to find something that matches your mood. Beyond rating, you can log films you've seen, build and share playlists, and follow other users to see what they're watching — the same way people follow friends with good music taste to find new songs on Spotify. Think Spotify, but for movies: rate, discover, and follow friends. Quartile is currently in beta, built by Kaiborg Designs, a design, development, and brand studio.

Built this because single-number ratings never told me why a film scored what it did. Rate across 5 categories, filter by Top Novelty/Cinematography, follow friends' taste. In beta, feedback welcome!
