About Ryokoya: Travel Journal
Ryokōya is the travel journal that writes itself. Tap Start as you head out the door, put your phone in your pocket, and go explore. By evening, your day is waiting as a story: the cafés, shrines and side streets where you lingered, the trains you took and the steps you walked, told with a local who knows the city. No typing. No checking in. No stopping to take notes while the city happens around you. HOW IT WORKS 1. Tap Start. One tap as you leave. 2. Pocket it. Ryokōya follows your route and notices where you stop, from a quick coffee to an afternoon in a museum. 3. Read your day. Stops, streets, rides and stamps, written up as a journal you'll actually want to reread. Got a stop wrong? Fix it, add one it missed, or mark one you only walked past, and the journal retells the day. WHAT'S INSIDE • A journal that writes itself: each day told stop by stop, with your route on the map. • RyokōMates: a local character in each of 51 cities who drops into your story with the tales behind the places it knows. • Neighborhood stamps: 1,094 neighborhoods across 51 cities, each with its own postmark. Cross into one on foot and the stamp is yours. • Crowns: walk every neighborhood at a city's heart to win its Grand Crown, or complete a themed collection. • City Packs: 333 hand-picked collections of places in 51 cities, with a free starter pack in every one. • Trip Receipts: your day printed as a receipt (steps, stops, trains, snacks and the weather), made for sharing. • City Bingo: nine things to do in every city, checked off as you walk. • Journeys: a week abroad told as one story, day by day and city by city. • Plan It: pin tomorrow's stops on the map, then go walk them. PRIVATE BY DESIGN There is no Ryokōya server. You sign in with Apple, your trips stay on your iPhone, and Pro's backup goes to your own iCloud. The App Store privacy label reads "Data Not Collected." WHO IT'S FOR Travelers who want to remember the trip without living it through a screen. City walkers collecting neighborhoods close to home. Anyone who has come back from a trip and wished they had written it all down. PRICING Free to download, with a free City Pack in every city. City Packs are $2.99 each. Ryokōya Pro is $2.99 a month, $24.99 a year or $69.99 once, and a 30-day Trip Pass is $6.99 for a single trip. iPhone only, iOS 26.2 or later. Made in New York by Zubonaru Apps, a one-person studio, and tested on foot in Tokyo and New York.
