About Todowing

Todoist hides your sub-tasks. Todowing puts them back. Open Today and you get top-level tasks only. The checklist you wrote under each one is still in your account, just not on the screen. Same in Upcoming, in every filter and label view, and on every board. Todowing is a Chrome extension that draws those sub-task rows inline where they belong, nested four levels deep, without moving or rewriting anything in your account. I use Todoist every day and this was the thing that kept breaking my planning, so I wrote a userscript to fix it for myself. Todowing is that userscript rebuilt as a real extension. It still runs on my own Today view every morning. YOUR SUB-TASKS, BACK Inline nesting in Today, Upcoming, Filters, Labels, and every board in Todoist Each row carries its own due date, priority, and labels, the way the parent does. Click one to open the task. Check off or reopen a sub-task from the list, without opening anything Fold a parent once and it stays folded through Todoist's constant view rebuilds Completed sub-tasks come back from the archive (30-day window), so a checklist shows what's done When a recurring task recurs, its completed sub-tasks reopen, so each cycle starts fresh Add, rename, and reorder sub-tasks from the row itself, or drag them into the order you want One toggle hides done sub-tasks, while a finished parent with open work under it stays put File a task under a parent in another project without moving it, so the link travels to your phone too BEYOND SUB-TASKS Focus sessions: pick what you're working on from Today and start a timer. A card counts down beside your list, holding those tasks and their sub-tasks, and one session runs across every open tab. Time estimates: put a number on a task from its row. Todoist's own header carries the total for everything in view, and the focus strip totals just the tasks you picked. Notes pad: three lines above Today for what never becomes a task. Reads a little markdown, saves as you type, never leaves your browser. Apple Calendar on Today: Todoist connects to Google and Outlook but not Apple. Publish a calendar from Apple Calendar, paste the link into Todowing, and the day's events sit beside your tasks. Read-only, and it takes about a minute to set up. YOUR LIST, YOUR LOOK Seven palettes that re-tint a dark Todoist theme, each with its own row spacing, section style, and corner rounding Fifty Google Fonts, each previewed in its own face, applied to the whole Todoist app Text size from 85% to 200% in steps of 5 PRICING Free: every nesting feature with full row detail, the palettes, and the text-size slider, limited to 5 sub-task rows per top-level task. No account needed. Lifetime unlock, 19.99 once: unlimited sub-task rows, editable rows, focus sessions and time estimates, one task in two places, the font picker, hide-done, the notes pad, and Apple Calendar. Every future upgrade is included, and there is nothing to renew. You buy on todowing.com, Stripe handles checkout, and refunds are no questions asked for 14 days. WHAT IT WON'T DO It runs on the Todoist web app in Chrome. Chrome extensions can't get inside the desktop app you download from Todoist, though you can install Todoist as its own Chrome window and Todowing works there the same way. A project's own list view already nests sub-tasks, so Todowing leaves that view alone. Any Todoist plan works. Pro is not required. PRIVACY Your API token stays in your browser and goes only to the official Todoist API. Your tasks never touch our servers. There is no analytics or tracking in the extension. Todowing is an unofficial companion extension, not affiliated with or endorsed by Doist.
