Trackost is inventory and cost-of-goods (COGS) software for handmade makers: soap, candle, cosmetics, jewelry and food-gift businesses selling on Etsy, Shopify and Faire. Sales platforms report what sold, not what it cost to make, so costs drift and a bestseller can quietly lose money. Trackost keeps one live per-unit cost. Purchases re-average material cost, with shipping, tax and discounts spread across lines as landed cost. Multi-level recipes (bills of materials) re-price with wastage, labor and overhead. Production batches consume materials and snapshot their cost. Orders record per-line COGS and fees, and returns reverse cleanly. Reports cover P&L, profit per product and channel, inventory valuation and a Schedule C COGS worksheet, with CSV export.
