About Video to Link

Video to Link turns a video or an image into a short, shareable URL. Drop a file on the page and a videotolink.net link comes back in seconds. There is no queue and no transcoding step. The conversion happens during the upload itself, so when the progress bar ends, the link already exists. It exists for the moments when the file itself will not travel. Attachments bounce, messaging apps recompress a clean export into something blurry, and a shared drive folder makes the other person sign in or request access before they can watch forty seconds of footage. It accepts MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and M4V on the video side, and JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF on the image side. Nothing is re-encoded or recompressed. The bytes served are the bytes uploaded, so a colour-graded export stays graded, a screen recording stays sharp enough to read, and a photo keeps its full resolution instead of arriving at whatever size a messaging app decided on. Whoever opens the link gets a single page with the file on it and nothing else. No ads, no related content, no sign-up wall, no app to install. Video streams progressively and supports seeking, images render at original resolution, and a download button is there for anyone who needs the file itself. Pasted into Slack, Discord, WhatsApp or X, the link unfurls into a preview card and plays inline wherever that is supported. A shared link stays under your control. Any link can carry a password or an expiry date, and both take effect on the next click rather than after some later cleanup pass. Deleting a file from your library kills its link immediately. Nothing is published publicly, there is no browse page or profile to look through, and file pages are kept out of search engines, so the link is the only way in. Teams use it for screen recordings and walkthroughs, developers and QA for reproduction videos attached to tickets and pull requests, sellers for showing an item working inside a listing, freelancers and job seekers for putting a reel behind one clean line in a proposal, and teachers for lesson recordings that need no platform to sign into. The service is free and works without an account. Signing in, also free, is what makes a link permanent and unlocks a library where you can rename, search and delete files, and see how many times each link has been opened or downloaded. No watermark on the file, no advertising on the page, and no trial clock counting down in the corner.
