About AITerm
Most AI terminals make you choose: let something run commands on its own, or copy-paste out of a chat window in another app. AITerm does neither. It's a real PTY terminal with AI in the loop — you describe what you want, it proposes the command, and nothing runs until you approve it. /fix repairs a failed command; /explain tells you what one does before you run it. What makes it usable on machines you care about is the safety layer. A dry-run preview shows what a command would touch before it touches it. Safety profiles like Production and Locked Down stop or outright block the dangerous stuff. Every decision lands in a tamper-evident local log. Point it at production and it behaves accordingly. It's private by design: run a fully offline local model, or bring your own cloud key that goes straight from your Mac to your provider — there's no backend of ours in the path. The free version is the whole core loop, not a crippled demo: the AI loop, tabs, splits, saved layouts, safety profiles, and dry-run are all free. Pro adds a step-by-step AI agent, saved runbooks, and per-host production profiles. Native, notarized, Apple Silicon, macOS 13+.
