About BaroGuard

Check changing atmospheric pressure from your wrist, review how it has moved over time, and track approximate climb or descent rates without a phone or online weather service. BaroGuard uses your watch’s built-in barometer for live readings, local trends, estimated altitude, and foreground-only vertical-speed sessions. Add the latest cached reading to a Wear OS Tile or supported watch-face complication for quick access between checks. Pressure at a glance • View live atmospheric pressure in hPa/mbar, inHg, or mmHg. • See whether pressure is rising, falling, steady, or still collecting enough data. • Review a local pressure chart and compare changes across supported time windows. • Keep 24-hour, 7-day, or 30-day history on your watch. • Calibrate against a trusted pressure reference or make quick offset adjustments. • Export retained pressure history as CSV when you choose. Estimated altitude and vertical speed • View approximate pressure-derived altitude using local calibration. • Set your current position as zero or enter a known reference altitude. • Start a foreground-only vertical-speed session for climb and descent measurements. • See current, 5-second, and 30-second rates in m/s or ft/min. • Review relative altitude, duration, total ascent and descent, maximum climb and descent rates, and a compact altitude graph. Vertical-speed sessions stop when BaroGuard leaves the foreground or pressure readings pause. Session results are not saved as permanent workout history. Built for Wear OS • Use selectable Tile layouts for cached pressure, trend context, mini graphs, or estimated altitude. • Add pressure, trend, delta, gauge-style, or estimated-altitude data to supported complication slots. • Tap the Tile or complication to open BaroGuard. • Run the app directly on your watch with no phone companion required. Optional pressure alerts Enable informational pressure-change alerts based on locally recorded foreground history. Choose the threshold, trend window, direction, and cooldown. These alerts describe measured pressure changes. They are not weather forecasts, storm warnings, or emergency alerts. Local by design • No account • No location • No internet access • No ads • No analytics • No backend or cloud sync Pressure readings, settings, history, calibration, and alert records stay on your watch. CSV export occurs only when you start it and choose a system share target. Battery-conscious behavior Live pressure, history, alerts, and vertical-speed sessions update while BaroGuard is open. The Tile and complications use cached local readings and never start continuous background pressure monitoring. Compatibility and accuracy A Wear OS watch with a built-in barometer is required. BaroGuard’s readings, trends, alerts, estimated altitude, and vertical speed are approximate. Results can vary with watch hardware, calibration, altitude changes, weather pressure, sensor behavior, and environmental conditions. BaroGuard is not a certified weather station, weather forecast app, storm warning service, emergency alert service, medical tool, professional altimeter, certified variometer, or aviation instrument.
