About Broomkit

BroomKit is a native macOS disk cleaner and app uninstaller built for transparency and safety. It scans the entire home folder across 16 categories — app caches, package caches, dependency folders, simulators, logs, duplicates, old installers, and more — and shows exactly what it found and where, before any payment is required. The free version provides a full disk scan, Disk Map (an interactive treemap visualisation of disk usage colour-coded by safety), a large and old file finder, and path browsing. These features are permanently free, with no account and no credit card required. A one-time licence unlocks Reclaim (moving junk to Trash and emptying it) and the App Uninstaller with residue cleanup. Smart Care runs a single scan across six cards — Cleanup, Developer, Performance, Applications, My Clutter, and Privacy — presenting everything found in one view. The Cleanup Manager offers a full per-file list with tick boxes, search, and sort before any deletion takes place. Every file is shown with its full path, and inferred items start unchecked so nothing is removed without explicit approval. The App Uninstaller lists every removable application with its real on-disk size, finds support files by exact bundle identifier across approximately eight Library directories, and displays all paths before moving anything to Trash. App Reset allows users to remove an application's settings and data without uninstalling the application itself. Developer machines are a deliberate focus. BroomKit handles package manager caches (node_modules/.pnpm, pip, and others), Xcode simulators and DerivedData, Docker disk images (showing reclaim commands where deletion does not apply), and nested hidden stores that general cleaners typically miss. Safety is central to the design. Nothing is ever directly unlinked; all removals go to the Trash first and remain recoverable until the Trash is emptied. The app matches app leftovers by exact bundle identifier rather than partial name matching, avoiding accidental deletion of sibling vendor data. No administrator password is requested and no privileged helper is installed. BroomKit runs entirely on-device. No file paths or scan results are transmitted over the network, and no account is needed. It is written in Swift, runs natively on macOS 14 and later on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, and is notarized by Apple and Developer ID signed. Licence options are one-time purchases with no subscription and no auto-renewal, available for 1, 2, or 5 Macs in 1-year and lifetime tiers.
