About Div/Sum
Div/Sum is a free AI-powered bill-splitting and group-expense app for iOS and Android. It turns a photo of a receipt into a fair, personalized bill split in under a minute, helping groups calculate what everyone owes and request payment without calculators, spreadsheets or awkward conversations. Instead of entering every purchase manually or dividing the total equally, users simply photograph the receipt. Div/Sum’s AI-powered OCR technology reads the individual items, prices and quantities automatically, including information from crumpled and handwritten receipts. How Div/Sum works: 1. Scan the receipt Take a photo of a restaurant, bar, supermarket or other receipt. Div/Sum extracts the line items, quantities, prices and total, removing the need for manual data entry. 2. Add the people involved Select existing friends, create a group or add guests on the spot. Div/Sum remembers regular group members, making future bill splits faster for friends, couples, housemates and work teams. 3. Assign individual and shared items Tap an item and assign it to the person who ordered or purchased it. Participants can identify what belongs to them, while shared dishes, drinks or household products can be divided evenly between selected members of the group. This item-level approach is particularly helpful when people have ordered different meals, shared only part of the table or purchased groceries based on different dietary needs and preferences. 4. Calculate everyone’s exact share Div/Sum calculates how much each participant owes, including their assigned items and share of anything consumed together. Taxes, tips and service charges can be distributed proportionally, so each person contributes fairly rather than paying an equal part of a bill they did not create. The person who originally paid can be selected as the payer. Their own share is marked as settled automatically, while payment requests are prepared for everyone else. 5. Request payment Generate personalized payment requests through Revolut, Venmo or PayPal. A clear text summary can also be copied and shared through any messaging app. Friends do not need to download Div/Sum or create an account simply to view their total and pay back the person who covered the bill. This makes the process practical even when splitting expenses with new acquaintances, travel groups or people who use different devices. Built for real shared-expense situations Div/Sum can be used for: • Restaurant dinners, café visits and nights out • Shared dishes, drinks and group orders • Grocery shopping between housemates or couples • Group holidays and travel expenses • Digital nomads meeting and travelling with new people • University students and shared accommodation • Office lunches and work-team expenses • Birthdays, weddings, celebrations and other events • Any situation where one person pays and everyone else needs to repay their fair share Multi-currency support makes Div/Sum useful at home and while travelling. Supported currencies include EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, TRY, SEK and more. More than a one-time calculator Div/Sum keeps a history of previous splits and social expenses. Users can review what they have spent, see previous bill details, track who owed what and quickly reuse saved friends for future splits. Unlike traditional expense trackers that focus mainly on manually recording totals and maintaining long-term balances, Div/Sum starts with the actual receipt. It focuses on the moment when a group needs to identify individual purchases, divide shared items and settle the bill accurately. Privacy and security Div/Sum is designed with privacy and transparency in mind. Account sessions and data in transit are encrypted, user information is isolated on the server side and payment tags for Revolut, Venmo and PayPal are handled privately. Div/Sum does not sell personal information or browsing history. Receipts are processed securely, and users can request the deletion of their account and associated data. Whether you are dividing a restaurant check, organizing expenses during a group trip, sharing grocery costs with housemates or collecting money after an event, Div/Sum provides a faster and fairer way to settle the bill. Scan the receipt, assign the items, split anything shared and send the payment requests. No manual calculations, no equal split when the orders were not equal and no confusion about who owes what.

Will be giving splitwise run for its money. It looks like a lot of efforts went into making this. Good luck.
