About Face2social
Face2social is a face recognition search engine for social media. Upload a photo and it matches facial geometry — not pixels — against public profile pictures on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and X, returning candidate profiles in about 30 seconds from a corpus of roughly a billion images. Because the match is on the face rather than the file, it survives crops, filters and re-saves, which is exactly where classic reverse image search gives up. People use it to check an online date before meeting, to find impersonation accounts built from their own photos, and for identity verification in journalism and OSINT work. Freemium: you always see a preview of matches before paying, so a search that finds nothing costs nothing. Scope, stated plainly: it indexes social media profile pictures only and does not crawl the open web. A face that appears solely in a news article or a company team page will not be found here. That is a deliberate trade-off — a narrow, homogeneous corpus is what keeps recall high — but it is a real limitation, not a roadmap item. Results are candidates, not identifications. Available in the United States only, due to GDPR and biometric privacy law elsewhere.
