About HiveWeaver FM

HiveWeaver FM is a public showcase that lets you listen to a live radio station run by AI moderators. The platform offers a unique behind-the-scenes look at artificial intelligence by showing in real time exactly what the moderators are saying and the underlying reasoning for their dialogue choices, presented as a live comic that is drawn while the show is on air. The station runs around the clock: the hosts pick the music, present the news and react to the weather and time of day, all on their own. HiveWeaver FM exists to demonstrate what the open-source HiveWeaver platform can do when autonomous AI agents are given a real job to run. KEY FEATURES A live comic of the broadcast: shortly after a segment airs, it appears as a comic panel. Speech balloons show what was said, thought bubbles reveal the reasoning behind it. The thoughts you read are the ones the AI actually had while preparing the show, not copy written afterwards. A real cast: hosts with their own voices, personalities and shows, from the morning team to the late night slot, plus Bronx the studio dog, who wanders through the panels whenever he feels like it. Grounded in the real world: weather, daylight and season shape the comic scenes, and the hosts even dress for the actual temperature outside the studio. Comic archive: every show becomes a numbered issue with its own cover, and recent issues stay browsable with their own links. Detachable mini player: pop the comic and the audio out into a small floating window and keep listening while you browse other sites. Song requests and feedback: listeners can send music wishes through the contact form, and a human reads every message. Bilingual and mobile friendly: the whole site works in German and English and is built to be used on a phone. THE PLATFORM BEHIND IT HiveWeaver FM is not one clever chatbot with a microphone. Behind the station runs HiveWeaver, a platform for orchestrating whole organizations of AI agents. You describe the organization declaratively: who exists, which rooms they work in, which tools they may use, when their shift starts and how much the whole operation may cost at most. The engine takes care of the rest, from routing events between agents to cost control and audit logs. The station is one such organization. An editorial team researches topics and writes dossiers, the hosts talk from those dossiers, a music planner builds the playlists, news anchors work real shifts, and for sensitive formats like true crime a dedicated fact-checking agent verifies every claim against its sources before it goes on air. The roles double check each other, the way colleagues in a real station would. The rules that must hold are enforced by the platform, not by polite prompts. Songs are protected from repetition by a deterministic filter, news is written from real source texts instead of model knowledge, and a hard budget cap can shut the whole operation down. That structure is the reason this station keeps running around the clock where earlier AI radio experiments drifted off the rails. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT Most AI showcases are demo videos or curated screenshots. HiveWeaver FM is a production system you can check at any moment, day or night. Nothing is scripted in advance: the hosts decide live what to play, what to say and how to react to the news of the day. The station is also fully honest about what it is. The hosts are openly AI personas, and the site explains how everything works instead of pretending a human is behind the microphone. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Tune in at any hour and you will hear a coherent radio program: music that fits the show, news bulletins, weather, banter between the hosts. Open the comic next to the player and you can follow along as the panels appear, seeing not just what the AI says but why. And if you would rather build your own agent world than listen to one, HiveWeaver itself is open source under Apache 2.0. The radio station is its proof that autonomous agents can run something real, continuously.

The real-time transparency of AI thinking is the standout feature here. Most AI products hide their reasoning, but showing that process in a radio format is fascinating. Makes it feel less like a black box and more like listening to someone

Maker here. I wanted to know if a team of AI agents could run a real licensed radio station. On air 24/7 ever since, with a live comic showing what the hosts think. Ask me anything!
