About InkVault
InkVault is free, open-source, local-first persistent memory for your AI conversations, browsing, and work. The context behind your work is scattered across tools: a conversation that solved a problem, a page that shaped a decision, an explanation you want to find again. InkVault preserves supported history in a local vault you own, so it stays available after the original tools clear their records. Find it again in the Memory Atlas Search your preserved history, select a result, and read it in context. Explore activity over time and see where projects connect. With “On this day,” revisit indexed activity from the same date in an earlier year. Browse a date range even when you don’t remember a keyword. Bring past context into your AI tools Connect an MCP-compatible AI client to search your vault by keyword or meaning, retrieve saved conversations, and explore your timeline. Give your assistant source material from earlier work when you ask for it. Choose what you preserve • Claude Code and Codex conversations. • Supported Claude desktop agent-mode sessions on Windows. • History from supported browser profiles you explicitly choose. • Optional Windows screen activity: a foreground-window timeline and text from selected apps. No images are saved. • Existing Pieces memory through a resumable rescue process. Keep ownership practical Your archive lives in a local SQLite database. InkVault requires no account, collects no telemetry, and does not upload your archive. A nightly schedule can refresh your vault, rebuild search, and keep local backups. Optional daily summaries use a model running on your own computer through Ollama. Privacy has boundaries You choose browser profiles and control screen capture. Saved conversations can still contain sensitive information. If you connect a cloud AI client, memories returned to that client may be sent to its model provider under that client’s settings. InkVault began as a way to preserve memory when Pieces announced its shutdown. It has grown into a tool for anyone who wants to keep their working history independently of the tools that produced it. Free and MIT licensed. Built by T. Matthew Chase / Logos 7. Your work deserves a memory. https://www.logos7.org/inkvault

Excited to share InkVault! It began as a way to save my Pieces history and grew into local memory I own. What do you wish you could find again? An AI conversation, a page, or a past decision?
