Kifuku

Kifuku is a specialized language learning tool focused on Japanese pitch accent—the tonal layer of the language often omitted from standard kana. The app moves beyond simple memorization by teaching the underlying rules that govern where tones drop in nouns, verbs, and compounds. It measures four distinct skills: rule application for unfamiliar words, pattern recognition, inflection changes, and auditory perception using real recordings from a Tokyo speaker rather than synthetic text-to-speech.
