Koval SEO Console — the SEO check that talks like a person. Most SEO tools are built for people who already do SEO. You get a score out of 100, a list of warnings written for specialists, and no idea which one is worth your Tuesday morning. Koval SEO Console is built for the other person: the owner who has a website, doesn't do SEO, and just wants to know whether something is actually wrong. How it starts Paste your address. The first check starts on its own. Nothing to install, no snippet, no plugin, no account needed to see the result. It reads your public pages — the same ones Google sees — so it works with whatever your site is built on: Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, custom, it makes no difference. What you get back Every problem is explained in a plain sentence, with the evidence next to it — the actual thing read from your page: the meta tag, the HTTP response, the stored snapshot. Not a claim you have to trust. The line itself, so you can judge it yourself. Priorities are written reasons, not a number. How serious it is, how sure the tool is, and how much of the site it touches. There is no score out of 100 anywhere in the product, on purpose: a 73 tells you to worry, it doesn't tell you what to do. The part most tools skip You fix something. Then what? Run the check again and you get exactly one of three answers: fixed, not fixed, or couldn't confirm. That third answer is the reason the product exists. It refuses to call a problem solved just because the warning stopped appearing — because gone isn't the same as fixed. A warning can disappear because the page was deleted, because it moved into a different category, or because nothing was looked at again. Google's own definition of a passed validation counts a removed page as a fixed one. This one doesn't. The same honesty applies to gaps: if something couldn't be checked, you're told what and why, instead of a guess. Unchecked isn't the same as fine. 70+ checks today, and a public rulebook The full catalogue is open, including a Declined tab — checks deliberately not built, with the reason. Example: guessing whether AI wrote your text. Refused, because there's no reliable way to tell. It seemed more useful to say that out loud than to ship a coin flip. Search Console data is optional and imports as a file export from your own Google account. No Google login, no OAuth, nothing connects to your account. Price Free right now — the whole product, no credit card, no trial that runs out. Optional paid extras may come in later versions, which is why it says "right now" rather than "forever." Your data is yours: view it, export it, delete it, whenever. How it was built Mostly by OpenAI Codex agents, with one rule that shaped everything: before a check could ship, it had to catch a bug planted on purpose on a live test site. Not a fixture — a real site with a real broken thing on it. A unit test proves the code does what its author described; a planted bug proves the check finds what it exists to find. The landing page was built with Claude Code. Stack: Python (FastAPI) with SQLite, React and TypeScript, Astro for the marketing site. What's planned — labelled as plans, not promises Core Web Vitals from real visitors. Full JavaScript rendering. Scheduled re-checks that catch regressions. Further out, and the reason this got started: connecting directly to your site, whatever it's built with, so approved fixes can be applied change by change, with the owner signing off on each one. If you try it, the feedback I want most is which explanation still reads confusing. Plain words are the whole product, so a confusing sentence is a bug.
