One big change this week at Norte: we cleaned up the dashboard to keep it simple and trigger-focused. Instead of just telling you “you’re covered,” Norte now shows you: 👉 Rental: up to $75k 👉 Travel: up to $20k trip cancellation 👉 Purchase protection: $10k per claim 👉 Emergency medical: $2.5k And a Coverage Value total — a conservative estimate of how much protection you already own through your cards & policies. The catch most people are talking about: Multiple enrollment requirements and quarterly deadlines that most cardholders will miss. While the headlines focus on the fee increase, I have just mapped all 8 new credit categories, their activation requirements, and expiration cycles into our coverage intelligence system at Norte! Regional cost intelligence - Added a new cost engine for CDW (Collision Damage Waiver). - Shows typical rates in your destination (e.g. €30/day in Spain, $40/day at US airports). - Helps you see the real savings if you rely on your card vs buying extra coverage. 3. Card-geography logic - Norte now compares your card’s issuing country with your country of residence. - Flags conflicts like “US Amex + Spain residency = 15-day rental coverage limit” or “Italy requires CDW → card benefit void.” 4. Policy & card overlap detection Identifies when your auto, travel, or credit card policies duplicate each other. Surfaces warnings like: “Your travel insurance and Amex both cover emergency medical.” “Your auto policy + card both cover rental cars domestically.” 5. Smarter insights in context - Added warning cards and tooltips inside Wallet. - More transparent about exclusions (tires, glass, luxury cars) and claim requirements (declining CDW, pre-authorization, documentation).
