About Ordecto
Ordecto auto-tags your PDFs, adding headings, lists, tables, figures and reading order, thMillions of PDFs, including reports, forms, course materials and policy documents, can’t be read by screen readers because they lack tags, a logical reading order and alt text. Laws like ADA Title II, Section 508 and the European Accessibility Act require these documents to be accessible. But fixing them by hand in tools like Acrobat is slow, specialist work. Many automated checkers return a simple pass/fail badge that hides what was never actually tested. Organizations are left with growing backlogs of inaccessible documents and no reliable way to prove compliance. Ordecto is an AI-powered tool that checks and repairs PDF accessibility. You upload a PDF in the web app, or use the Windows and Mac desktop apps, which process files locally. Ordecto tags headings, lists and tables, fixes the reading order and adds alt text to images. You can correct the structure manually or by describing the change in plain language, and you review every change before it’s applied. Ordecto then validates the document against WCAG 2.2 and PDF/UA-1, with EN 301 549, Section 508 and the Matterhorn Protocol as references. It reports three separate results: failures the machine detected, items that need human review, and checks that couldn’t be tested. Each report is tied to the exact file through its SHA-256 hash, so the evidence holds up in an audit. Ordecto is built for public sector and education teams, accessibility remediation specialists, publishers and regulated organizations.en repairs and checks the result against PDF/UA and WCAG 2.2 standards. Upload a PDF and get an accessible, standards-checked version.
