About Peeko Prose

Peeko Prose is a private, rule-based prose checker built specifically for fiction writers. It helps writers uncover self-editing blind spots, review chapters more systematically and polish their work without surrendering their individual voice. Peeko highlights potential tense shifts, nearby repetition, punctuation and quotation problems, long sentences, excessive comma use, adverbs and changes in sentence rhythm. Each notice identifies a passage that may deserve another look and explains why it was flagged. Unlike generative AI writing tools, Peeko never rewrites prose, generates replacement sentences or tells the writer what their story should say. The writer evaluates every notice and decides whether anything needs changing. Peeko can also learn which flagged choices are intentional, allowing its feedback to become better suited to the writer’s style. Manuscript checks run locally in the browser, no account is required and the writing is not uploaded to Peeko. Writers can paste their work or import TXT and DOCX files, save multiple drafts locally, use the checker offline and export a report of the results. The outcome is a focused second pair of eyes for fiction: clearer patterns, fewer overlooked inconsistencies and a stronger final edit—while the prose remains entirely the writer’s own.
