About StitchDiag

StitchDiag is a browser-based troubleshooting assistant for people using ordinary home sewing machines. A user photographs the front and back of one controlled test seam, adds a few setup details, and receives up to three possible causes with visible evidence and counter-evidence plus one safe next check. Free public guides cover skipped stitches, tension issues, loops underneath, bird nesting, thread breaking, fabric puckering, zigzag tunneling and fabric-feed problems. StitchDiag does not provide a confirmed diagnosis, a repair guarantee, or instructions for industrial machines, electrical faults, internal timing, disassembly or dangerous mechanical work. Users are told to stop for needle or metal strikes, grinding, heat, smoke or electrical smell, or a hard jam and seek qualified service. The public guides and photo-led diagnostic flow are currently free to use.

I built StitchDiag to help home sewists test one setup variable at a time from both sides of a seam, with clear stop conditions and no claim of a certain diagnosis. Feedback is welcome.
