About Yoink

Yoink is a free Windows desktop app for downloading video and audio you own or have permission to save. Paste a supported link, choose video or audio, select from the qualities the source actually provides, and save the file directly to your PC. Yoink was built as a cleaner, safer alternative to the cluttered and often sketchy downloader websites people normally end up using. There are no accounts to create, no confusing download pages, no fake download buttons, and no unnecessary steps. The goal is simple: paste, pick, Yoink. Everything is designed around a local-first experience. Your downloaded files, settings, and history stay on your own computer, giving you a straightforward desktop workflow without relying on a browser-based downloading service. Yoink also keeps quality selection transparent. Instead of presenting made-up or misleading quality options, it shows the formats and qualities that the source actually makes available, so you know what you are downloading before you save it. YouTube is currently supported, with support for additional platforms actively in development. Yoink is still in public beta and is being continuously improved based on testing and user feedback. Yoink does not bypass DRM or access controls. It is intended for downloading media you own, media in the public domain, or media you otherwise have permission to save.
