About Grout

Grout is a desktop AI learning suite for students, teachers and schools on Windows and macOS. Its core AI models are downloaded once and run on your own computer, so the study tools keep working on filtered or unreliable school networks and there is no per-prompt cost. One yearly licence covers three apps: GroutApp is an AI learning studio. Study from your own textbooks with answers that cite the page, read photographed handwriting, and build lesson plans, worksheets and slides. GroutCode is an AI coding studio with compiler-checked lab practicals that can be customised to any syllabus, from KTU, VTU, CBSE and ICSE to your own. A real toolchain decides pass or fail, and the AI reviews afterwards. GroutFilm is an AI video and audio editor with a local multi-track timeline. On institution plans, all three include an exam module. Alpha Learning adds mastery learning with concept graphs and a tutor that gives hints, never answers. Free download to try. Continued use is a paid yearly subscription and a Grout account is required.

Running the models locally so study tools keep working on filtered school networks is a very practical reason to go offline. Letting a real compiler decide pass or fail before the AI reviews is the right order for coding labs.

Hi, Anish here, founder of Grout. We built it so students and schools can use AI on their own computers, even on filtered networks. Happy to answer anything about local models or the lab practicals.
