About PATANYX Browser

PATANYX Browser is a lightweight, Rust-based desktop browser built around a simple principle: privacy should be part of the architecture, not another setting users have to hunt down. Developed by EdgeXene, PATANYX is designed for people who want a cleaner, more private browsing experience without creating an account, installing a stack of extensions, or handing over more data than necessary. Privacy protections are enabled by default. PATANYX blocks ads and trackers at the request layer, strips common tracking parameters from links, restricts third-party cookies, helps reduce cross-site fingerprinting, and limits websites’ ability to probe devices and services on your local network. The browser also includes practical privacy and productivity tools such as clean-link copying, destination previews, session-scoped permissions, an encrypted local password vault, and Private Tunnel, which is a browser-scoped WireGuard feature that lets users bring their own compatible VPN configuration without routing the rest of the computer through it. Built primarily in Rust, PATANYX uses each platform’s native web engine, WebView2 on Windows and WebKitGTK on Linux, rather than shipping a full browser engine of its own. The result is a lighter browser with development focused where it matters the most: privacy, security, and the browsing experience. PATANYX also integrates PATANYX Search, a privacy-conscious discovery service built around named, authoritative data sources rather than crawling and indexing the entire web. Core privacy features are available without an account, and the browser-side privacy and security code is open source under the Apache 2.0 license. PATANYX Browser is currently in prerelease for Windows and Linux. Leave less behind.

PATANYX started with a simple idea: privacy should be built into the browser, not buried in settings. Excited to bring our prerelease to PeerPush and hear what early users think!
