About Remotype

You already carry the best keyboard you own. Remotype turns your phone into a wireless keyboard, trackpad and remote for any computer or TV. The free tier stays free forever: no account, no ads. WHY IT FEELS DIFFERENT • Nothing to install on the other end (Android): real Bluetooth HID, so a smart TV, a game console, a hotel PC or a friend's Mac just sees an ordinary keyboard. • On iPhone (and Android over Wi-Fi), a tiny Remotype Host on your Mac or Windows PC unlocks the deeper tricks below. • Machined keycaps with real press travel, built from native components on both platforms. It feels like a precision tool, not a remote-app toy. WHAT PEOPLE ACTUALLY DO WITH IT • Type a streaming password into a TV in two seconds instead of two minutes of D-pad. • Present from anywhere in the room: a laser dot, a spotlight that dims everything but your point, freehand ink, all rendered live on the big screen. • Couch computing: tilt the phone to move the cursor (air mouse), and stream a live magnified slice of the screen to your palm at ~30 fps, with the computer's audio. • Dictate a paragraph straight into any desktop app. Speech stays on the phone; only the text leaves. • Type passwords from a Face ID / Touch ID-locked vault, never through the clipboard. • A 24-tile macro deck, a real numpad your spreadsheet recognises, a two-way clipboard that follows you between computers, and a walk-away lock that secures the Mac when you leave the room. • Multi-computer: discover every host on the Wi-Fi, switch mid-session, or dial one over Tailscale by IP. PRIVACY, BY CONSTRUCTION It types your passwords, so it collects nothing. No analytics, no telemetry, no server in the loop for your keystrokes. Everything travels phone-to-computer on your own network. PRICING Keyboard and trackpad: free forever. Premium (screen mode, casting, TV remote, dictation, macros, secrets and the rest): 14-day trial with no card, then $4.99/month, $39.99/year, or $99.99 lifetime. iPhone and Android apps. Remotype Host for macOS and Windows.

Maker here. Built Remotype because typing a Wi-Fi password into a TV with a D-pad broke me. Free keyboard + trackpad forever, no card for the trial. Ask me anything about the Bluetooth HID trick.
