About Subti

Subti is a macOS menu bar app for learning languages from films in VLC. Hold Option and click a subtitle word, or select a whole phrase, to get a contextual translation without leaving the movie. Useful words and expressions are saved to History and Dictionary, can be reviewed with spaced repetition, and exported to Anki. I built Subti because I wanted to learn from films without constantly switching between VLC, a translator, notes, and Anki. Would love feedback from people who learn through subtitles
