About ThonkBoard
ThonkBoard is a spatial canvas for thinking through ideas. Instead of a scrolling chat, you lay out your reasoning as nodes and connect them, the way you would with sticky notes, so a multi-thread train of thought stays visible instead of getting buried. The AI in it has one job: question and critique. It pokes holes in your reasoning rather than agreeing with everything and handing you a finished answer. You answer back, and the idea gets sharper. It never decides for you. To stop the slot-machine loop where people keep asking the AI to redo everything, there's an AI Fatigue limit. Past a point you can't ask for another spin, which pushes the thinking back onto you and keeps the output personal. When you're done, vote nodes up or down to shape a final report, a clean summary you can export as markdown or PDF. It's the memo behind a decision, with all the ideation sitting behind it. It runs entirely in your browser. No login, no backend. It's free, and you bring your own AI: a cloud key, or a local model through Ollama so nothing leaves your machine. Built by a designer in a week as a tool to actually think with, not another answer machine. Features Node-based canvas: lay out reasoning spatially instead of in a linear chat. Critique-first AI: it questions and pokes holes in your ideas instead of agreeing. AI Fatigue limit: a deliberate stop that breaks the loop of endlessly asking the AI to redo things. Up and down voting: mark nodes as keepers or filter them out to shape the final report. Conflict warnings: get flagged when two nodes contradict each other, with no forced resolution. Summary export: turn the board into a clean brief in markdown or PDF. Bring your own AI: a cloud API key, or a local model through Ollama so nothing leaves your machine.
