About Walyro
Walyro is a live wallpaper app for macOS that runs on your own video files instead of a hosted gallery. Drag an MP4 or MOV into the library and it plays as your desktop background at up to 4K. Preview a clip on a specific screen before you apply it, then put a different wallpaper on each connected display. Key features: - Set your own video clips as live wallpapers, up to 4K - A different animated wallpaper on each display - Preview on a screen before applying - Playlists that rotate automatically, plus favorites - Menu bar controls and a Now Playing sidebar widget - Drag and drop import - Pauses on fullscreen, eases off on battery and Low Power Mode - Launch at login, and built-in starter clips - Localized in more than 40 languages What makes it different: most Mac wallpaper apps are gallery-first, so you pick from a catalog they curate. Walyro is built around footage you already have, and the library never leaves your device. There is no account, no cloud storage, and no online catalog, so it works fully offline. What you can expect: a desktop that changes through the day without you touching it, a different scene per monitor on a multi-display setup, and no measurable battery hit while you work, because playback stops when an app goes fullscreen. Built natively in Swift and SwiftUI rather than Electron. Requires macOS 14 or later. Free to download from the Mac App Store with a one-time unlock for the full app. No subscription.

I built Walyro because I wanted my own videos as wallpapers without uploading them anywhere. Your clips, up to 4K, one per display, all kept on your Mac. Happy to answer questions.
