About HimLocal Partner OS

HimLocal Partner OS is one operating system for every kind of local business in India — hotels, restaurants, retail shops and activity operators — under a single login, a single dashboard and a single bill. Most operators end up assembling their own stack: a PMS from one vendor, a POS from another, a website on a third platform, and a spreadsheet to reconcile all three. The owner becomes the integration layer. Partner OS exists because a mountain property in Himachal is usually several businesses at once — rooms upstairs, a café downstairs, a shop by the road, guided treks on weekends — and no single-vertical tool can see the whole thing. BUILT BY HimLocal is built in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh and incubated at IIT Mandi Catalyst, the technology business incubator at the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi. It is built in the same valleys as the businesses that run it, which is why GST handling, low-bandwidth performance and direct settlement are designed in rather than bolted on. WHAT IS INSIDE Hotels, homestays and resorts (PMS). Front-desk reservations, a room and rate calendar, guest folios with split-folio and city-ledger support, night audit and day-end reports, a payments register, housekeeping, maintenance and lost-and-found. A direct booking engine embeds on your own website so guests book at your rates, your policies and your cancellation rules, with zero OTA commission. A channel manager is available, priced by rooms. Restaurants and cafés (RMS). A menu builder with variants, add-ons and modifiers. Dine-in QR ordering on permanent, cryptographically signed table tokens. A KOT and kitchen-display queue that routes automatically to thermal and kitchen printers. Delivery and takeaway with per-channel pricing. Table and floor management. GST billing with auto-incrementing invoice numbers, cash-drawer and shift reports, coupons, offers and customer records, and a live order dashboard with sales analytics. Shops and D2C brands (Retail). A branded online store on your own domain or on yourname.himlocal.com, built with a drag-and-drop homepage builder and a live preview. Products with colour and size variants you can bulk-generate. Multi-warehouse inventory with audit-logged adjustments, bulk stock-take by CSV, barcode counter sales and offline sale capture. GST-compliant invoicing with the CGST/SGST/IGST split. Structured data, sitemaps and Core Web Vitals are handled for you, and Google Merchant Center and Google Ads are set up during onboarding. Activities and treks. Slot-based bookings with capacity caps and buffers, per-guide assignment, weather holds, pickup and drop-off details, and a guest manifest. Multi-vendor itineraries let a tour operator bundle a property, activities and transport into one bookable package that fans out to several providers behind a single guest checkout. THE MONEY STAYS YOURS Payments run through the operator's own Razorpay account, connected by OAuth — no key sharing, and HimLocal never holds the money. Guests pay by UPI, card, netbanking or wallet, and settlement lands in the operator's own bank account on the normal T+1/T+2 cycle. Refunds and disputes are handled from one screen, and every transaction lands in a GST-ready ledger. UPI runs at 1.8% plus GST. A DEMAND SIDE, NOT JUST SOFTWARE Every business on Partner OS is also listed on himlocal.com, the traveller-facing discovery marketplace — an interactive map of the Himalaya where visitors plan trips and book stays, treks, road tours, cafés and local shops. Bookings that arrive through your own site or storefront carry 0% commission; only marketplace-sourced sales carry 5–10%. The dashboard that runs the front desk also helps fill it, which is something no single-vertical competitor offers at all. PRICING Every plan is annual, and the entry price is about $50 a year — not $50 a month. No monthly tiers, no per-seat billing, no add-on creep. Restaurants ₹5,000/year, hotels ₹10,000/year, hotel and restaurant together ₹12,000/year, retail ₹10,000/year. Staff accounts with roles are included rather than sold as seats. Launch pricing is 50% off and stays locked for five years. WHERE IT RUNS The deepest footprint is across the Himalayan belt — Manali, Spiti, Dharamshala, Shimla, Kasol, Bir, Tirthan and Leh. The software itself is pure SaaS and runs for any hotel, restaurant, shop or tour operator anywhere in India. Mobile-first, and built to work on a mountain 2G signal as well as on fibre.

I built this in Kullu after watching one hotel run a PMS, a POS and a Shopify store — three logins, three bills. Now it's one. Hotels, cafés, shops, trek operators. Starts @₹5,000/yr. Tear it apart.
