About Layerbase

Layerbase is a one of a kind serverless database platform. Currently it offers 21 databases, with free options, paid options, and self-hosting options. Imagine if Neon, Supabase, Planetscale, Upstash, Tinybird, and every other database platform were combined into 1- that is what you get with Layerbase. Modern applications can no longer run with just 1 database, don't spread your databases across multiple platforms. Instant branching for 19 of the 21 engines will be rolled out in June 2026. Full compatibility with Neon, Supabase, PlanetScale, and Upstash APIs. Fixed price plans, no ingress/egress costs, no surprise bills ever. Join early and help shape the future of the product. Built in web IDE for every database type, teams, and a beautiful desktop app for every operating system, free of charge and integrated with your cloud account. All database types supported: -Relational -Document -Key-Value -Analytics -Search -Time Series -Graph -Financial

I use the Solo tier in production, $5/mo flat fee for my blog. Neon was costing me nearly $50/mo on an average month. I'm already paying $15/mo for Redis on Upstash. I'm that over too when I have more free time. This is my new DB platform. And the Desktop IDE is so cool. I used to use DBNgin and TablePlus (which wasn't free) but I've replaced both of them locally for Layerbase desktop on Mac. Only 1 downside is it doesn't have AI tools built in to debug queries which seems like an obvious feature in 2026

Modern apps need two or three different databases so it's cool to see a place where you can get more than one DB in the same place. None of the major players have a free tier, nor do they support 20 different databases, so stoked to have found this, right up my alley.
