About NovaAvatarAI

Nova is a privacy-first local AI assistant designed to run entirely on your device without relying on the cloud. The goal is to give users a powerful, personal AI experience while maintaining full control over their data. Unlike most AI tools, Nova does not send user data to external servers. It runs locally, making it ideal for people who care about privacy, security, and independence from big tech platforms. Nova combines ease of use with powerful features such as conversation memory, document processing (e.g. text and markdown files), and built-in voice output. It is designed to be simple enough for everyday users while still appealing to developers and AI enthusiasts. The main goal of the website is to showcase Nova, demonstrate how it works through video, and provide a simple way for users to download and try the demo version. Over time, the site will also support updates, documentation, and future releases of the full product. Nova is built to make local AI accessible, practical, and enjoyable — not just for experts, but for everyone.

This looks quite good, but how is this different from using openclaw or hermes locally?

@yusifia17

@ribhulahiri Thanks for checking out! The main difference is projects like Hermes or OpenClaw are tools that require heavy technical setup. Nova is built as a fully compiled, native desktop application made for non-technical users

@58259phil Right now I’m targeting around ~6000 tokens of document context locally, mainly to keep performance stable on lower-end systems (~8GB RAM targets). Still experimenting with the balance.

I am very excited to release this project. I spend so many months through, health struggles and pressures and all the bad things in the world.
